Puritan Bennett 840 Ventilator

The Puritan Bennett 840Ventilator is responsive to patients and offers superior comfort, delivering sensitive, precise breaths to critically ill neonatal through adult patients.  For use in providing neonate through adult patients with ventilatory support in the hospital environment.

The 840 Ventilator is easy to use, fast, and designed for patient comfort. It works with patients neonate through adult as well as with difficult critical care cases. The  840 Ventilator features PAV*+ software, a breath type that better manages a patient’s work of breathing and supports more natural breathing compared to conventional mechanical ventilation. With the addition of optional advanced technology upgrades, this ventilator can meet the specific needs of practically every patient type you care for—from neonatal patients weighing as little as 300 grams to adult patients weighing as much as 150 kg.

Additional Information

  • The 840 Ventilator includes a breath delivery unit (BDU) that controls ventilation, and a graphic user interface (GUI) that monitors and displays ventilator and monitored data
  • The ventilator supplies mandatory (pressure or volume controlled) or spontaneous breaths (inspiratory flows of up to 200 L/min, with or without pressure support) with a preset oxygen concentration.
  • Breaths can be pressure- or flow-triggered using Flow-by.
  • Touch screens display monitored data separately from ventilator settings for easy assessment of the patient’s condition.
  • The optional 806 Compressor provides compressed air to the breath delivery unit (BDU) and can be used in place of wall or cylinder air.
  • The standard 802 Backup Power Source (BPS) provides DC power to the BDU and GUI in the event that ac power is lost
  • Modes: Assist/Control, synchronous intermittent mandatory ventilation, or spontaneous

  • BDU 13” x 18” x 10” (330 mm x 457 mm x 254 mm)
  • GUI 18.1” x 15.5” x 6.7” (460 mm x 394 mm x 170 mm)
  • BPS 3.25” x 9.6” x 10” (83 mm x 244 mm x 254 mm)
  • Cart 39.3” x 22.9” x 23.7” (998 mm x 582 mm x 602 mm)
  • Compressor 16.4” x 18” x 14.25” (417 mm x 458 mm x 362 mm)
