3B Scientific PRO Male and Female Catheterization Simulator

3B Scientific PRO Catheterization Simulators allow demonstration, practice and assessment of male and female urinary catheterization procedures. The realistic simulation of the Pro version makes it suitable for practical exercises including suprapubic catheter and perineal care.

The easy-to-change genital inserts are placed into the anatomically correct lower abdominal model and held in place with magnets. Both inserts are made from soft, flexible material: Foreskin and labia are movable and the penis can be stretched. This way the student can practice all the necessary gestures for catheterization. The material gives a realistic feeling when inserting and removing the catheter into the bladder with realistic resistance and insertion depths.

When the catheter has been correctly inserted, fluid runs out just like with a real patient. The catheter can also be checked through the transparent bladder. The abdominal wall can be removed so that the process can be viewed better.

Up to size 16 Fr silicone and PVC catheters may be used in the 3B trainer. Coude catheters with curved tips should not be utilized. Water-soluble lubricant should be used so that the catheter can be inserted smoothly into the urethra. A suprapubic catheter has already been put in place for students to practice cleaning and care.

Male P93 Trainer features:

• Soft, removable foreskin
• Three (3) different levels of urethral constriction may be set
• Size 12 or 14 Fr catheter is required for moderately narrow urethra
• Catheterization is not possible in the narrowest setting, leading to the conclusion that a suprapubic catheter is required
