VATA Chester Chest with Port Access Arm
VATA Chester Chest with Port Access Arm
VATA Chester Chest with Port Access Arm
VATA’s anatomical healthcare model Chester Chest makes it possible to teach and practice the infusion, withdrawal, care, securement, and dressings of multiple vascular access lines:
- IVAD placed in the chest and optional upper arm
- Hickman-like central line
- PICC line
- Peripheral IV site
- Optional triple lumen jugular and subclavian catheters
Chester Chest™ with Port Access Arm features an arm with a dual lumen 5FR PICC exiting the basilic vein from the inner bicep area, a pre-positioned 20g IV catheter in the forearm and a recessed area in the upper arm for an optional peripheral IVAD. With this model, it is possible to simulate accessing the following IVAD placements: normal, “tipping”, “wandering”, or deeply placed. Successful access is confirmed by a blood return. Fluid can be infused and blood withdrawn from all the lines.
Features
- All central lines are attached to a simulated blood reservoir bag in the torso or the arm to permit the practice of blood withdrawal and fluid infusion
- IV fluids and medications may be administered through all IV access lines
- Cleansing, application of dressings and securement devices can be demonstrated at all sites
- Torso may be used in either the upright or supine position
Left Chest Area Includes
- Outer tissue flap duplicates the feel of human tissue, providing realistic feel for palpation and IVAD access
- Real implanted IVAD port under the outer tissue flap
- Interchangeable difficult accessing inserts allow simulation of normal, tipping, wandering and deeply placed IVAD port
- Rigid underlying surface with molded ribs and recessed area for interchangeable inserts
Right Chest Area Includes
- 9.6 Fr subclavian tunneled central catheter with visible Dacron cuff
